Gestaggerte Schäfte (engl.: staggered shafts)
Darunter versteht man unterschiedlich lange Mechanikenschäfte bei 6-in-Line Mechaniken. Die Schäfte werden kürzer, je weiter die Mechanik vom Sattel entfernt ist. Das hat zur Folge, dass die höheren Saiten auf geringerer Höhe eingefädelt werden und sich somit der Saitendruck auf den Sattel erhöht. Dadurch werden Saitenniederhalter überflüssig.
Beim Gotoh Magnum Lock System klemmt der Mechanikenschaft die Saite nach einer Vierteldrehung quasi wie von Geisterhand im Durchgangsloch fest und läßt sich danach wie bei einer normalen Mechanik weiterbewegen. Ein elegantes und perfekt funtionierendes Lock System.
