This is a solid american alder body guitar with sound chambers, equipped with a Duesenberg Deluxe Tremola and steel saddle bridge, and JD-63 Pickup. On top the guitar has an aluminium plate, which has been ornamented with some of Johnny's personal tattoos. For this, the tattoos have been photographed and then re-drawn with a computer, and so these motives could be applied onto the aluminium top.
There was a Limited Series of the Johnny Depp Guitar with 52 guitars only, this now is an Alliance series model, with slight changes to the limited edition, such as the Tremola instead of wraparound-bride, and new artwork.
The Pickup is a P-90 which has been especially designed for Johnny Depp. Nice detail: You have the option of adding 1963 turns of pickup wire to the signal with a little switch, and so you can choose between full fat P90 sound and a more vintage Telly one. (1963 is Johnny’s year of birth).

Bei diesem Instrument handelt es sich um eine Solidbody mit "Sound-Chambers", die mit einem JD-63 Pickup und einem Duesenberg Deluxe Tremola nebst Steel Saddle Bridge ausgestattet ist. Auf der Decke befindet sich eine Aluminiumplatte, die mit einer Auswahl von Johnny Depps Tattoos verziert ist. Dafür wurden die Tattoos fotografiert, anschließend am Computer nachgezeichnet und konnten so als Motive verwendet werden, um sie in die Aluminiumplatte einzuätzen. Ins Leben gerufen wurde dieses re-designte Serienmodell nach dem großen Erfolg der auf 52 Exemplare limitierten Johnny Depp Artist Series. Im Gegensatz zum Limited 52 Model gibt es allerdings ein paar Veränderungen. So ist die Gitarre z.B. anstatt mit einer Wraparound-Bridge mit besagtem Deluxe Tremola ausgerüstet. Und auch das Tattoo Artwork wurde überarbeitet (andere Anordnung, weniger Motive). Noch ein Wort zum Pickup: bei dem JD-63 Singlecoil handelt es sich um einen speziell gewickelten P-90. Ein kleiner Schalter ermöglicht zusätzlich zum fetten P90-Sound auch noch einen eher vintage-mäßigen Telly-Sound. Es werden dabei genau 1963 Windungen der Spule aus dem Signal genommen. 1963 ist Johnnys Geburtsjahr. Inklusive Custom Line Case.
